Ali Campbell to Perform at Warwick Racecourse

Ali Campbell, legendary singer of the world-renowned group UB40, is performing with his band after racing at Warwick Racecourse on 21st August.

Since leaving UB40 in 2008, Ali Campbell and his band have thrilled audiences around the world. Their album ‘Flying High’ hit the top 20 in the UK chart and received the best critical reviews of Ali’s career to date.

With one of the UK’s most distinctive and recognisable voices, Ali Campbell promises to deliver an exceptional open air concert.

“Its fantastic to have such an iconic local artist performing here at Warwick on our second concert night of 2012.” said Huw Williams, Managing Director at Warwick Racecourse.

“We hope the combination of this brilliant artist and fantastic racing will make this summer evening an event not to be missed. So I would advise booking tickets in advance in order not to be disappointed.”

A whole generation have grown up listening to Ali’s infectious vocals on reggae classics such as ‘Red Red Wine’ and ‘Kingston Town’. Now audiences can expect to be impressed as he takes to the stage to perform such hits, together with some new songs from his latest albums.

Ali Campbell said: “I’m really excited to be performing for the first time at a racecourse.

“The fact that it is so close to my home town makes the concert night an even more special event for me. I can’t wait to entertain the racing crowds.”

Gates open at 3.00pm with the first race scheduled for 5.00pm. Seven great races will then be followed by a performance from Ali Campbell and his live band.

Tickets are on sale now and start from £25 which includes admission to the racing and concert.
